The Homestead | Lundville, MT

My great grandfather Einar, a WWI Navy Veteran, picked up his family and headed west from Minnesota to Montana in search of the American dream and to build a life of adventure and trails in the last frontier. As they established the homestead in Missouri River Breaks country the town of Lundville, MT came to be (noted by a red star above). It was nothing more than the homestead and a small postal service operation ran by my great grandmother Kristine but it was their home. At one point they had almost 600 acres of farm and cattle ground they worked by hand. My grandfather Bruce was born in the upper bedroom of the homestead (pictured below). During the Great Depression with tough times they had to leave the homestead and move to town. They settled on the edge of a small town called Wolf Point, MT. But never the less, with the determination of my great grandfather, Lund Feed & Seed was in town off the main drag (map pictured below). They would run this store for many years to come. In July of 2022 I had the pleasure of traveling to the homestead with my grandfather. The character and spirit of my great grandfather's pursuits in "America's Last Frontier" is the heartbeat of ideals behind Head West Provisions.
